Zachary James Heismann, born January 6, 1976, passed away March 29, 2022. Zac is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Heismann. He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Jennie of 22 years, his mom Karen Heismann, brother Jeremy (Stephanie) Heismann, nephews Noah and Ryder. And his loving companion Sasha.
Zac was an incredible husband, son, brother ,uncle and friend. He lived a life dedicated to serving others. He loved Jesus and followed Christ’s example of being a servant. Wherever there was a need, he was there, willing to help in any way he could. In many ways, he made life’s hardships doable for countless people. He made it a priority to be present and a part of celebrations and milestones in his friend’s and family’s lives.
Zac loved his 6 nephews dearly. Wherever they were and whatever they were doing, he was there playing with them, whether it was pushing them around in a wheel barrow, raking big piles of leaves so they could jump in, or getting in the pool with all his clothes on to play. He never wanted to miss a moment to be a part of their lives.
Zac lived an active lifestyle. He loved soccer and basketball and loved playing with his friends and neighbors. He was a skilled snowboarder and loved to go with his brother Jeremy and his nephews Noah and Ryder. His love of the water drew him to surf and wakeboard as much as he could.
Zac worked hard as a software engineer. During his downtime, you could often find him hard at work in his garden, growing tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, and peppers, which he shared abundantly and freely with everyone.
Zac was the definition of a loyal friend. He had an amazing group of friends that he has known for many years and loved each and every moment he was able to spend with them.
Zac was kind, patient, gentle, and compassionate; some would say he was the nicest person they had ever met. His life was well lived and he will be dearly missed.
The service will be live streamed from foothillsbible.online.church
I first met nephew Zac when he was 6-7 months old when his parents brought him to Michigan where we were living at the time. Whenever I saw him he was always smiling and interested in what each person was doing. Saw him at his graduation and watch him become the special young man he will always be in my memory. Zac was an inspiration on how to live life to the fullest while serving our Saviour however he could. I will miss you so much Zac, Hodspeed to you.
Love,
Aunt Shirley
Zach always gave the best hugs. I will miss him
I did not know Zac, but after I read about others' descriptions of him, I wish that I could have known him. Peg and I are so sorry for your family and the grief that you are going through, We will be praying for you and asking God for His healing for you.
Zach! You don't know how much I enjoyed working with you! I am going to miss you so much – your smile, your quiet sense of humor, your helpfulness. You made a big impact!
I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know Zac through work. He was a collaborative and helpful team member who was eager to help others learn. Sending strength to his family during this difficult time.
Zach was was the most soft, kindest man I have ever met. There was such a feeling of peace around him and you felt it standing next to him. What a special person he was. My thoughts and prayers to family. He will be truly, truly missed.
I remember when he came to my homeschool High School graduation and we played a game with him at his house called Diplomacy ( a risk-like game) I had agreed to not attack him but did instead attack him.
Zac always displayed a very Christ-like spirit in each situation I saw him in. That's what made him a great role model for our teenage boys, especially. He taught them not only carpentry skills and computer coding, but mostly with his example of a gentle, humble attitude. Our whole family enjoyed our game nights with Zac & Jennie, He was a great competitor! Although our hearts are saddened by his passing, we know he is in the presence of his Lord. We are praying for Jennie and the family that they will know the comfort that only God can give.
