Yvonne Lucille Mestas

February 5, 1949 ~ October 3, 2020
Yvonne Lucille Mestas of Golden, Colorado, passed peacefully on October 3rd, 2020 in Arvada, Colorado, she was 71 years old.
Yvonne, a longtime Denver native, was born in Colorado on February 5, 1949 to Fermin and Lucia Mestas. She was the first born of seven siblings and is the last to rejoin the family to rest in peace.
She was the rock of this family, the one everyone went to just hang out with, smoke with, eat with. She always had something good cooking. Yvonne always believed in the open door policy. If you needed a place to stay, or just a friend to talk to she was there with a smile.
She leaves behind some of the brightest joys of her life, her partner Manuel Perez and her children; son, Rudy Gallegos of Thornton; and her daughters, Sheila Fuentes of Arvada and her baby girl Leona Mestas of Arvada, all whose confidence in life gave Yvonne so much pride.
She extended this same love to the plants that she lovingly cared for in her home throughout the years and gave even more love to her pet and constant companion, Ginger. The love and importance of Ginger to Yvonne was evident to everyone in the last years of her life.
Yvonne more than enjoyed shopping, she LOVED shopping! Many of these trips included time spent in Central City with the man of her heart, her greatest protector, her son, Rudy.
Yvonne not only leaves behind her three children, partner Manuel and fur baby Ginger, she is also survived by 9 grandchildren Jeremy Fuentes, Timothy Fuentes, Brianne Hubbart, Ashley Gallegos, Rudy Gallegos jr., Andrew Gallegos, Tenikko Mestas, Alonzo Mestas, and Tauren Mestas, 16 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by both parents as well as all of her siblings; sisters, Diane Borrego, Marilyn Mestas, Eileen Mestas, and Kathleen Mestas; brothers, Nolbert Mestas and Dave Melvin Mestas.
Memorial service will be Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Church. The address is 4490 Newland Street, Wheat Ridge. The family invites you to join them in a dinner following the service also at Trinity Church Reception Hall.
Momma Im gonna miss you so much. You were my best friend my purpose my everything. I pray every night that your so happy right now. I'll be sad for a life time if it means you're not hurting anymore and your truly happy with your family. For every tear that falls is for every bit of love you gave me. I wish I could take you for more rides just rolling around talking shit about every body while you pretend to listen and agree with everything I say.
