William Robert Sigler
February 11, 1938 ~ April 23, 2019
Bill passed away on the morning of April 23, 2019 at the age of 81. He was a lifelong resident of Engleood, CO.
Born February 11, 1938 at Porter’s Hospital in Denver to parents Byron and Pauline Sigler. Bill grew up in Englewood, living most of his 81 years in the house he shared with his wife Jane.
Bill graduated from Englewood High School in 1956 and then attended Middle Tennessee State College. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in mathematics. Bill taught secondary math for over 30 years in the Littleton Public School District.
In 1961, Bill married Jane Roleen Roush and together they had one son, Bill Jr. in 1967.
Following his retirement from teaching in 1993, Bill and Jane traveled and welcomed their new life as grandparents. William III, born in 2000 and Carissa born in 2003, occupied much of Bill’s time and energy when not helping his son to run his landscape business.
Running errands and doing endless favors for his son and family kept him busy along with daily phone calls with his brother Jim and frequent breakfasts with his friends.
Bill’s pride and joy were his two grandkids. Along with Jane, he would attend every school function, award event, sporting and scouting activity they had. Admiring and often bragging of his grandkids’ achievements, they would dominate Bill’s attention whenever they were together.
After suffering a sudden stroke, Bill passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Jane, son Bill (Jodie), brother Jim (Marilyn), grandkids William and Carissa, sister-in-law Sandy Roush, niece Cyndy Sigler, nephews Jim Sigler II, Robert Sigler, BJ Roush, Kenny Roush, and Chad Roush.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019. All are welcome to help us remember Bill.
