William H. Bousman, age 95, died on March 6, 2015. He was born on December 29, 1919 in Denver, Colorado. Bill was a devoted Christian, husband, and father.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leatrice Guest Bousman. They had two children, Tom Bousman (Corrie) of Benson, Arizona and Deb Hissem (Bill) of Neenah, Wisconsin. He married Lynne Vander Laan in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Lynne, his children and their spouses, two grandchildren, Matt Hissem (Amy), Becky Hissem, two great-grandchildren, Logan and Zachary Hissem, a stepson, Jim Vander Laan (Merial Currier) and a step-daughter-in-law, Vicki Vander Laan (widow of Randy Vander Laan) and eight step grandchildren: Nicole Dougherty (Alan); Deidre Lewis; Curtis Bentzel; Aryn Sloan (Scott); Brandon Lenderink (Lisa); Dylan Lenderink (Beth Flaherty); Skye Vander Laan, Keaton Vander Laan and several step great-grandchildren.
Bill graduated from North High School in 1938 where he played basketball and football. He was always pleased that he was part of the 1938 North High team that won the State Basketball Championship. He went on to Colorado School of Mines (CSM) where he earned a degree in Mining Engineering. After graduating from CSM, Bill served in the Army Engineer Corp during World War II. He spent three years overseas and at the end of the War was a Company Commander with the rank of Captain. After the War, he enjoyed a successful engineering career with Stearns-Roger where he designed and oversaw the construction of power plants.
After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed winters in Arizona. Bill was an avid golfer and continued to enjoy sports. He was a member of Pinehurst Country Club, Rio Verde Country Club, Colorado Society of Engineers and Senior Golfers Association of America.
Bill was a resident of Holly Creek Christian Living Community in Centennial, Colorado. His ashes will be buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. A ceremony will be held at
Ft. Logan on April 10 at 1:30 PM with service celebrating Bill’s life at Holly Creek Christian Living Community (5500 East Peakview, Centennial, Colorado) at 3:15 PM the same day.

I was sorry to hear about Uncle Bill's passing, but it is great to know that he is now with Jesus! I would love to come to his graveside and memorial services but unfortunately I will be out of town. Thank you Debbie for letting Margie know. Maybe there will be another time when the Bousman cousins can get together.
