Our beloved father and grandfather, William Brian Maurice went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was 82 years old. He was born in Denver, Colorado, on July 14, 1943, to William and Lavenia Maurice. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Gary, and his wife Pam.
He met his wife Pam Turner when he was 18 and she was 14, and they were married 4 years later. They lived most of their married life in Lakewood, Colorado. They had 2 daughters, and 4 grandchildren.
Bill graduated from South High School in 1961. He went on to earn his degree in education from UNC in Greeley, Colorado, and then continued his education, by earning his master’s degree. He joined the Air Force after college and was stationed in Colorado Springs. After his time in the military, he began his teaching career. Bill was a math teacher, and he also coached wrestling, which was one of the great joys of his life. His wrestling family has remained connected and supportive through the years.
Bill and Pam were members of Denver First Church of the Nazarene and were always involved in their Sunday School class. They were grateful for this great community of believers, that surrounded and supported them through the years.
Bill was a part of the Proud American Veterans (PAMVET) breakfast group that met every Saturday morning and found friendship and encouragement through his many connections there. He was greatly honored to be a part of the High Plains Honor Flight, which gives veterans an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor. It was a dream fulfilled that he was able to go.
Bill was an accomplished artist and many of his paintings are on display in the homes of his family and friends.
Bill Maurice is survived by his daughter Renee Anderson, daughter Cherie Maurice, grandson Korey Maurice, grandson Keegan Varney, granddaughter Toni Varney and grandson Ethan Varney. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
