It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willene (Wendy) Forslund, who left us on February 7, 2023 at the age of 80. Willene (Wendy) was born on November 23, 1942 in Gainesville Georgia. She was the daughter of Willie Williams and Charles Holcomb. She was one of seven children born to Willie. She is preceded in death by mother, Willie Williams, (Gainesville, Georgia) father Charlie Holcomb (Dahlenga, Georgia) and siblings, sisters Georgia Ann Carithers (Gaines­ ville, Georgia), Dorothy Donahue, (Chicago, Illinois), and brother Buster (June) Johnson (Trenton, New Jersey). Wendy attended Fair Street high School in Gainesville Georgia and Nashville School of Business in Nashville Tennessee where she received an associate degree. Mter graduation she went on to pursue a career in computer technologies and enjoyed careers at Mobile Oil and Gas Corporation as well as Kaiser Permanente. Wendy was a loving wife to James Forslund and a devoted mother to Patience Lynn Elkins and Kelvin Lenard Harrison. She was a true hearted grandmother to Jordan Mcclendon and made her the center of the universe. Wendy had a passion for entertaining. She loved to host family gatherings and parties which included her infamous Fourth of July pool party. Her warmth and enthusiasm were conta­ gious, and she inspired many to pursue their own passions.Wendy touched the lives of countless people throughout her lifetime, from family and friends , to colleagues and acquaintances. She will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering spirit. Wendy leaves behind her loving husband, James Forslund, her son, Kelvin Harrison, her devoted, daughter, Patience Elkins, and spouse, Jerry Elkins, and beloved granddaughter, Jordan Mcclendon, siblings Jack Johnson (Gainesville, Georgia), Shirley Lindsey (Scotts- dale, Arizona) and Linda Ellison (Gainesville Georgia) as well as a host of nieces and neph­ ews and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 27431 E. Sixth Dr., Aurora, CO 80018. All who knew Willene (Wendy) Forslund are invited to pay their respects and honor her memory. She will be deeply missed, but will live in our hearts forever. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to Pure Patience Cancer Foundation.
