Wayne Edward Robel Robel---Wayne Edward, 81, Lutheran Hospital-Collier Hospice Center, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, formerly of Johnstown, PA died September 11, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born September 14,1929 in Johnstown, son of Fred A. and Dona Electa (Strayer) Robel. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Fred A.Robel, II. Survived by wife, Betty A. (Stober), his wife of 63 years, of Denver, Colorado. Daughters, Debra , married to Timothy McKenzie, Davidsville, PA and Wendy, married to David Jeffers, Glenwood Springs, Colorado; sons, Robb, Washington state, and Eric, married to Holly West, Arvada, Colorado; Grandchildren: Brian, married to Ginger (Fulcomer) of Seward, PA, Kathryn, married to Matthew Thomas, Meghan , married to Garrett Adams, and Krista, all of Johnstown, Nicholas Elio, married to Melissa (Daulton), Megan Elio, and Alix Robel, all of Colorado. Great-Grandchildren, Brock and Bradyn McKenzie; also survived by brother, Rayford A. Robel and sister-in-law Janet (Watkins) Robel, Cary, North Carolina, and sister-in-law Betty (Robinson) Robel, Johnstown, PA, along with numerous nieces, nephews and children of marriages. He and Betty were members of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Johnstown. Wayne graduated from Johnstown High School as Class President in 1947. He continued his education at Lehigh University and graduated in 1951 with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He began working in the family business and was Vice-President of the former Robel Construction Company in Johnstown, PA. He and Betty were fortunate to have lived in: PA, FL, AZ, GA, and CO. In 1984 Wayne began a new career as founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Drew Webar Company, Recruiting Specialists. Throughout his life, Wayne was a member in highest regard in the Greater Johnstown Lodge # 538 F. & A. M. In the Masonic organization, he held the rank of 32nd Degree and was a member of all of the local bodies. He was Past Master of Sunnehanna Lodge 742, 32nd Degree Valley of Pittsburgh, member of Portage Royal Arch Chapter #195, Cambria Council #32, Oriental Commandry #61, a member of Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, and a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Allegheny Mountain Forest #127. Wayne and Betty enjoyed the last "Birthday Reunion" of the 1947 graduating class in 2009 when they and fellow classmates reached age 80 years old. Wayne was a devoted husband and endlessly generous father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family.
