Wanda Lee Watson-Berry passed away on January 1st, 2021 at the age of 88
Wanda was born on October 9th, 1932 to Newt and Stella Akins in Harmon County Oklahoma. Wanda was the 5th of 7 children, with 4 brothers and two sisters (all now deceased).
Wanda grew up in the panhandle of Texas and at the age of 16, met and married her first husband, James Alton Watson. They had two children, Richard and Allen, and moved to Colorado in 1963. Wanda began a long career as a teacher, finally retiring in 1991. After her husband James passed away in 1990, Wanda eventually remarried to Floyd Berry.
Wanda was a devoted lifelong Christian and was a long-time member of the Bear Valley Church of God of Prophecy. Her church became her second family and a prime focus of her life.
Wanda is pre-deceased by her parents, her siblings Bill Akins, James Akins, Judy Briley, Betty Hobgood, Kent Akins, and Trent Akins, both of her husbands – James Watson and Floyd Berry, and by her son Richard Watson. She is survived by her son Allen Watson, daughter-in-law Bobbie, and grandson Draegan Watson.
