Viola B. Gomez

 

Viola was born April 8, 1931 in Kersey, Colorado to Alfonso, Sr. and Adelia (Saavedra) Solis.  She passed away March 4, 2018 at her home in Denver.

She graduated June 5, 1945 from Annunciation High school in Denver.  She married William Nick Gomez, Jr. on May 6th, 1951.  Viola worked at the 1st National Bank in Denver as a bookkeeper as well as working at Fashion Bar as a cashier.  Viola’s interests included playing the piano, crochet, making the greatest chocolate candy and baking cakes, floral designing, painting landscapes with both acrylic and oil paint, bead work, and glass etching.

Viola is preceded in death by her husband William Nick Gomez, Jr., her siblings Adelia, Alfonso, Benny, Ernest, Eugene, Donald and Richard.  She is survived by her children Liat Moberly, Lizanne Gallardo, William N. Gomez, III, Patricia Gomez, Francine Gomez, Sheri Ortegon and Peri Moya; siblings Arthur, Beverly, Elaine, Lillian and Margaret; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at the Bullock Colonial Chapel on Monday, March 12th at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jude's Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 13th at 12:00 Noon.  Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

    I am going to miss you so much! What am I going to do without you?? My heart breaks knowing I won't have you to go visit on the weekends. I have soooo many memories of you and the house and Grandpa. I will cherish those forever. I wish I could talk to you one last time because I would tell you just how much you meant to me, Ken and the boys. You were the most amazing person Granny! Thank you for always being there for us.
