Therese Marie Michaud

Therese Marie Michaud, 85, Englewood, CO, peacefully passed from this world to the next on Monday, August 18, 2014, at Porter’s Hospital in Denver.  She was born on September 22, 1928 in Fort Collins, CO to Bernard and Valeria (Schmid) Gilsdorf.  She lived a life of devotion to her family and was a faithful and faith-filled soldier for our Lord.  In her final years, she offered all her physical sufferings and endless prayers for the love and salvation of her family and for all those whose lives intersected  her own life’s journey.  It is a beautiful thought to imagine Therese now running into the arms of her husband  of 62 years, with two strong legs and that bright and gentle smile.

Therese was not only faithful but also selfless and is recognized by those around her for her warm welcome, for her kindness and  for her tireless and faithful support of others as a prayer warrior.  She lived a life of honor and integrity, walking as a companion of Christ and true to her Catholic faith.

Her husband, Eugene J. Michaud (1926-2009) and their son, Joseph E. Michaud (1949-2009) preceded her in death.  Survivors include 10 children: Kate Michaud, Denver, CO, Patricia Clark and husband Dennis, Denver, CO, Janet Huber and husband Stephen, Denver, CO, Tom Michaud, Barbara Michaud, Wasilla, AK, Marie Pierce and husband Charlie, Highlands Ranch, CO, Bernie Michaud and wife Susan (Bergman), Lakewood, CO, Regina McCutcheon and husband Mark, Aurora, CO, Michael Michaud and wife Mary (Rivera), Denver, CO, Gerard Michaud and wife Renee (Werth), Hays, KS, a daughter-in-law, Janice Michaud, Denver, CO and her sisters, Mary Rose Bousselaire, Lakewood, CO,  Bernadette Graaf, Denver, CO,  28 grand children and 21great-grand children and one joining the family soon.

Guestbook

  1. Jerry, Mike, and family.  Our family expresses our condolences for the loss of your mother and the joy knowing that she is in the Lord's embrace.  The obituary tells us the story of a good and faithful servant.  It witnesses to us a life of faith, endurance, love, and sacrifice.  Thank-you for sharing such intimate comments about her life.  Our prayers continue to surround you.  With love and respect, Allen and Ellen Schmidt and family

  2. My sincere sympathy to the family of Therese.  She was always a delight.  The times I took her holy communion in the home she was always appreciating such efforts.  We would sit and talk for a length of time following her receiving Holy Communion.

I must apology for not making it to the funeral or Rosary.  I am spending many hours helping my brother-in-law from Steamboat by taking him for daily treatment across town.  Just know that your family is in my prayers.

  3. It seems like yesterday you went to Heaven. I miss you and your sweet face. Many times I just want to call you and ask you a question, but catch myself— you are not there. I miss taking care of you and loving you. I MISS YOU !
