Susan Kay Lindsay
March 27, 1957 ~ October 15, 2011
Susan was born in Denver, CO on March 27, 1957, the fourth of five girls, to Harry and Helen Denewiler. She was baptized into Christ on June 30, 1968. She attended Harding University and graduated in 1980. Shortly after returning to Denver, Susan reconnected with a childhood friend, Rene "Guy" Lindsay. They were married on March 14, 1981. They had two children, Megan Lee and Andrew Guy. Through the years, the family sailed on their Santana 20 sail boat, where they gained a close nit group of sailing friends. Susan had an incredible faith in the Lord, which showed in everything she did. Susan was an active member of the Dahlia Street congregation, where she taught children's bible classes, attended ladies day retreats, and served as a constant encouragement to members and their loved ones. In 2009, Susan was diagnosed with a stage four glioblastoma brain tumor. After the diagnosis and throughout treatment, Susan remained positive and grounded in her faith. She found great comfort and encouragement from Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous, Do not be afraid..." This was her motto throughout her battle with cancer. Her unwavering faith in God's goodness and provision was an inspiration to hundreds of people that she interacted with during this time. After a long journey, Susan passed away on October 15th at 1:30am with Guy, husband of 30 years, by her side. She is remembered most for her upbeat personality, ready smile, willingness to help anyone at any time and her servant attitude. She is greatly missed here on earth, but we look forward to being reunited with her in Heaven.
