Sherrie Kay Sanchez-Marquez

Wife of John Fred Marquez. Mother of Felicia Sanchez and Jereme Sanchez. Daughter of Cheri Babyak and Pat Noud. Grandmother of KayLee, Jozlyn, Davina and Joel, Jr..


Sherrie was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother and friend. She began her young family at age of 17. She worked and went to school to obtain her GED while taking care of her first born-Jereme. She was married at age 19, then soon had her daughter-Felicia. Sherrie then became a stay at home mom 'till the kids were in school full time, she started working at DPS Food Service as a Baker and moved up to Manager over the years. She won "Manager of the year" award numerous times as the students, teachers and staff all loved her. Sherrie was a very warm, caring and friendly person. After being widowed at a young age of 41, she soon quit working for the school and began working as a florist, then a bartender. Later she married her new-found love-John Fred. Sherrie became a grandmother in 2002 of KayLee. Her and KayLee became very close as the spent hours on end together. Every Friday was KayLee and Grandmas' day together. From nails to tea parties they did everything together. 2 years later Jozlyn was born and "Grandma" welcomed her to their "Nail" and "Tea Parties" 3 years passed and her 3rd and 4th grandchildren were born Davina and Joel Jr. Although she will not be here for the nail, tea parties, and video games with her newest grandchildren, she will be in their memories and conversations. Sherrie made many friends through the years and made many people smile, laugh and cry. We were all very fortunate to have her in our lives for the time we did as she was a fantastic, warm-hearted tiny little angel. Thank the lord for relieving her from her pain and suffering! Sherrie will be sadly missed-! You will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts! Mom we love you and will see you again someday!


Memorial service will be held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions in Sherrie's name to the American Heart Association.
