Shelmer "Shelly" Pinyan

shelmer

It is with great sadness that we announce Shelmer Lynn Pinyan (known to family and friends as Shelly), passed away on November 23, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.

Shelly was born February 1, 1950 in the small town of Sheridan, Wyoming.  Her parents were Lelin and Patricia Owings. Shelly was the first of 4 children, John, Shannon, and Jeff. Shelly grew up with her very close friends, Carole, Connie, and Kathleen.
After moving to Colorado, she married Lloyd Pinyan. She had 3 sons, Carl, James, & Eric.
After marring Lloyd, she made many friends in Colorado, one of her oldest friends being Juile Taylor. They began as neighbors but became longtime friends. There were dozens of other people held close to her heart as family. Many people referred to her as Aunt Shelly. She had a big heart and was kind and would go to great lengths to be helpful to those that knew her.
Shelly's passion in life was being a chef, her career paths varied from working at Generos, to her last position working in a school kitchen. Shelly loved to cook, it will always be a fond memory spending holidays in the kitchen with her.
Shelly is survived by her sons, Carl (Becky), James (Tanya), and Eric (Madelaine)
Her grandchildren, Trista, Cody, Jonathon, Hailey, Cameron, Jessica, Makenna, Jordan, Eric Jr., and Sarai.
Her great grandson Oliver James.
Her life was full of great joys but what she loved most was being involved with all of her friends and family, she was truly an anchor for everyone who knew her.
Shelly would help anyone at anytime for any reason and she never judged anyone's shortfalls.
Shelly lost her husband Lloyd her one and only true love almost 11 years before her own passing. She lost her lifelong friend Carole last year.
We believe she had more love to give before she would follow them.
Shelly will be missed by all who knew her, she was always overjoyed to spend time with those she loved.

  6. Shelly you will be missed. You had always treated me like one of your own. You welcomed me into your life and home when we met 25 years ago. I thank you for always being there when I called to talk about anything and everything.
I know we would fight sometimes, but like you said, and I quote" if we didn't fight we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves".
You were the best and dearest mother-in-law ever.
