Sheila Elaine Gomes
April 15, 1930 ~ August 28, 2008
Sheila Elaine Gomes was the first of nine children born to Oscar Stanley Wight and Millicent Julia Wight on April 15, 1930 in London England, and graced the earth with her presence and love until her death on August 28, 2008 in Englewood Colorado.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband Austin I. Gomes and adoring children, Linda Whitmarsh "Rick", Margaret Uncapher "Patrick", Kathy Jenkins "David", David Gomes, Anne-Marie Reker "Rickey", and Michelle Schueller "Jeff", also her brothers and sisters , Margaret Andrade "Malcolm" (Canada), Derek Wight "Marguerite" (Cayman Islands), Patricia Lamb "Michael" (England), Rosemary Smith "Ian" (England), Peter Wight (Cayman Islands), Jennifer Holland "Gerry" (England), and Ian Wight "Gloria" (Cayman Islands). Preceded in death By Valerie Lark "Chris" (Holland). Grandchildren for whom Sheila loved without bounds are Christopher Whitmarsh, "Cindy", Eric Whitmarsh "Lauren', Erin Uncapher, Kyle Uncapher, Jennifer Bellino "Jeremy", Alyssa Jenkins, Joshua Gomes, Jessica Gomes, Ryan Schueller and Megan Schueller. Step Great Grandchildren are Skylar, Samantha, Sierra, Tristan and Andrew.
Sheila and Austin were married on November 21,1953 in British Guiana for 54 years of wedded bliss. Sheila and Austin immigrated to the United States in 1958 along with their daughters Linda and Margaret and they all proudly became American citizens on February 11,1965.
Sheila's education included Finishing school at La Retraite Convent, Burnham-on-Sea Somerset, England, and Pittman's College London, England. She completed her working career with Allstate Insurance, and retired in 1995. She was a member of Saint Louis Catholic Church Alter and Rosary Society, displaying her sincere devotion and concern for fellow parishioners since 1958.
Sheila's hobbies were spoiling grandchildren, knitting, crocheting, reading, puzzles, shopping and gardening. Her greatest attributes were her wonderful sense of humor, the twinkle in her eye's, her inability to say "no" and her generosity and laughter to every one she met.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Bullock Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Louis Catholic Church (3310 South Sherman).
