Sharon Rose Burton

sharon burton

June 29, 1943 ~ November 17, 2024

Born in: Chicago, Illinois
Resided in: Littleton, Colorado

Sharon Burton passed away on November 17, 2024 due to medical issues. Her daughter and many friends were with her as she passed.
She was born on June 29, 1943 in Chicago, however she grew up in Littleton Colorado and attended Littleton High School (class of 1961!). She married Robert Burton in 1963, and raised two children (Angela and Frank) in the same house they purchased in 1972 in the Columbine area. She spent her working life as an accountant, primarily at Swedish Medical Center, and later at Radiology Imaging. She moved to Windcrest retirement community in February of 2015.
She enjoyed life and was often travelling, though international travel was not her thing. She saw a lot of Colorado and the surrounding states. Her passion was photography, and although she was never a “professional” she often had a camera in her hand and enjoyed taking photos of her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela and son-in-law Mark. Her ashes will be interred at Seven Stones Botanical Gardens Cemetery in the Spring.
Summing up a life in a few paragraphs is not enough, and I encourage friends and family to share a story or a photo to her timeline. Thank you.

  1. Dear Sharon,
I didn’t know you too well but I sure could tell you were a wonderful mother and a beautiful person. I know this because your daughter turned out wonderful.
    Bless tou Sharon.

  2. Angela, I got to know your mother through the stories you would tell about her. I learned about her kindness, her sense of humor (!), her resolve and strength… all before I had a chance to meet her. But I just knew I would love her, and she was one of the greats! She raised a beautiful daughter that I am so thankful to call my friend 💗 I am so thankful to have gotten to meet her and I am so sorry for your loss.

  3. I will never forget the first tome I met Sharon. Angela and I were in college together, and I went over to her house. The woodpecker story was great! We miss you and your sense of humor.

  4. Mothers hold a special place in the hearts of all they touch. Thank you for the grace that you shared with all who met you and for the giving all of us your beautiful daughter.

Angela and Mark, never forget the memories, the happiness and the laughter.

  5. Sharon was someone who could make anyone laugh, I worked with her at Swedish Medical Center back in the early 1990’s and she was so welcoming, helpful and we became friends quickly. My husband and I moved back to Minnesota in 1993 and Sharon and I continued to exchange Christmas cards providing a quick updates on our lives and it was something I looked forward to each Christmas.

Remembering Sharon with fondness and I am blessed to have had her in my life. Condolences to her family and friends.
