Ruth “Ruthie” Dashiell

June 27, 1930 – December 7, 2019

Ruth Dashiell had a beautiful and rich life before passing away on December 7, 2019.  She was born in Decatur Nebraska in 1930. As a young adult she moved to Denver where she met and married Les Dashiell.  Les and Ruth, along with their two children, moved to Sundance Hills in 1972. Ruthie was a main fixture in Sundance until she moved to Wind Crest in 2018.

Ruthie was a devoted tennis competitor and enthusiast.  She played tennis in Colorado and in Palm Desert California until the time of her death.  When she was not on the courts, she was watching tennis or volunteering at the Indian Wells Masters, which she did for many years. She loved the many lifelong friends she met playing tennis. 

She also enjoyed fishing in Colorado and Wyoming, taking day hikes in Colorado and Palm Desert CA, walking her dog, cheering on the Broncos, playing bridge and entertaining her friends and family members at her home.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and one brother; and her husband of 53 years, Les.  She is survived by her sister Mildred Marcum (Jack); her daughter Amy (Sam) Hunt; her son Doug (Jackie) Dashiell; her grandchildren Jacob, Ryan and Remi; nieces and nephews.  

A memorial will be held Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 11-2 at Stoney Brook Clubhouse: 4601 South Yosemite Street, Denver 80237
