Ronald Charles Blasko
October 23, 1947 ~ May 29, 2024
Ronald Charles Blasko, son of Betty Jo and George S Blasko, was born on October 23, 1947 in Boulder, Colorado. Growing up mostly in Colorado, Ron spent a few of his younger years in Hot Springs, South Dakota. After graduating from Arvada West High School Ron attended the University of Colorado for one year before he received his draft notice.
Since he did not want to join the Army, Ron enlisted in the Navy and was sent to Vietnam after completing basic training. While serving three tours on two different aircraft carriers, the USS Ranger and the USS Oriskany, he was a “yellow shirt” on the flight deck crew, who helped ensure the pilots were launched safely from the ship for their missions. After four years in the Navy Ron decided to try his hand at delivering milk for one year.
After that, Ron found his true calling and purpose in life in law enforcement. He would end up spending twenty-four and a half years with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department in Brighton, Colorado. Ron served in many capacities with the Department, including Dispatch, Jail, Patrol, K-9, SCAT, SWAT, Detectives, and retired at the rank of Division Chief.
After retirement, Ron worked security for Colorado National Speedway and started his own company, helping car dealerships reduce their losses from theft and setting up preventative security measures. Ron enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, attending Nascar Races, Broncos, Rockies, and Avalanche games. If his team was playing away from home, he would watch them on TV. He would spend hours doing yard work and drinking coffee with his buddies at Starbucks.
Preceding Ron in death and welcoming him to his heavenly home were his mother, Betty Jo (Goudge) Blasko, his father George S. Blasko, sisters Cathie (Blasko) Morris and Paula Jo (Blasko) Jones, and step mother Mary Lou (Hollenback) Blasko.
Surviving Ron are his wife Marcie; daughter Dori Johnson (Jason), and grandson Mason Johnson, sister Barb Miller, brothers-in-law David Miller and Jerry Morris, nieces Mindy Morley (Fred), Kristy Banas (Keith), and Angie Mastrud (Cameron); Nephews Terry Koch, Derrick Jones, and Matt Miller (Tammi). Grandnieces Lauren and Vivienne Banas, Halie Smith (Hunter). Grandnephews Dawson, Evan, and Nathan Morley; Josh and Zander Koch; Logan Duncan (Rachel), and Austin, Chance, Wyatt, and Parker Miller.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Although I only knew Ron towards the end of his life, his humor, warmth, and caring was always apparent here. I loved our chats outside and seeing his little dogs ride in his lap. Thank you for sharing his light with us and trusting us with his care.
You were a wonderful brother in law. You will be missed
Marcie,
Gerhard sent a note Wednesday night with the sad news. You two were such great friends who opened your arms and welcomed us into your world. I will never forget the great times we shared; be it hunting, working at the track or just hanging out. The world has lost a great man and he will be forever in our hearts.
To a longtime friend, classmate and supporter in our early years. May you walk with your loved ones in the hereafter. Thank you for the memories.
To one of the best people I enjoyed working with. May you RIP.
Rest in Peace Ron, we will miss you.
