Ronald C. Blanchard

ronald blanchard

Ronald "Ron" Blanchard, 69, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at his home in Englewood, CO. He was born in Englewood on May 25th, 1950 to Lloyd Blanchard and Lucille (Swedhin) Blanchard. Both of his parents proceeded him in death. He graduated from Englewood High School in 1968. He started working at Mountain Bell in 1971, where he eventually met the love of his life, Katherine "Kathie" (Minter) Blanchard in 1973. They were married on January 10, 1976 in Englewood, CO. Ron and Kathie went on to have three daughters and a son. Ron retired from IBM in 2015. Ron loved his family more than anything, he loved rooting for the Rockies, researching conspiracies, reading lots of fiction, enjoying the outdoors (hiking, skiing, camping, fishing, RVing with his wife, you name it!), coaching soccer, drinking beer (especially Upslope), taking his dogs on walks and listening to talk radio. Ron is survived by his wife of 43 years, Katherine "Kathie" (Minter) Blanchard; daughters: Alissa Steele and her children, Brooke, Dayton and Braylie Steele, Meaghan (Patrick "PJ") Reilly and her daughters, Kaitlynn, Briana and Carissa; Hollie Blanchard; his son: Adam Blanchard; siblings Mike (Linda) Blanchard, Janyce (Tom) Martin, his beloved dogs Max and CoCo, and many nieces and nephews. He fought very brave and hard against cancer wanting more than anything to stay here with his family. Saying we are proud of him is an understatement. Heaven has gained an Angel. A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 23rd, 2019 at 11 am at the Inn at Hudson Gardens 6115 South Santa Fe Drive Littleton, CO 80120. In Lieu of flowers please donate to the Hudson Garden Memorial Foundation in Ron's name (
