Roger Morrison

Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO 80113 with burial following at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Roger was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  An only child, Roger was proceeded in death by his parents Brennie and Gilmer.  He was also proceeded in death, a mere 6 years ago, by Ramelle, his wife of 50 years.  Roger leaves behind his children, Bret Morrison (Sarah), Michelle Lundstedt (Doug), his forever daughter-in-law Meredith Griffin (Tim), 4 grandchildren; Jordan Lundstedt, Braden Morrison, Gavin Morrison, Redemption Morrison and his grand-dog Lady.

Roger was a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering.  Later earning his Master’s Degree from The Air Force Institute of Technology Air University in Space Physics.  Roger proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1962-1982, retiring out of Offutt AFB at the rank of Lt. Colonel, only retiring to avoid being stationed at the Pentagon.  Everyone who knew Roger, knew how adamant he was about never doing a tour in D.C.  During his career, he received the AF Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Award, AF Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, 2 AF Meritorious Service Medals, 3 AF Commendation Medals and 4 AF Longevity Service Medals.

After leaving the Air Force, Roger and Ramelle settled in Monument, CO for 26 years.  Roger worked for several Aerospace Defense contractors until he completely retired to enjoy golfing and grandkids.

Roger lived a quiet life for the past 6 years.  If he was not golfing, at the library or at one of his 4 favorite places to eat lunch, he was with his grandchildren.  Roger was often seen on the walking trail with his grand-dog Lady.

Roger did not like to travel and refused to go anywhere, often voicing his disapproval.  He did however; love to look at pictures of his children and grandchildren and hear their tales of trips and adventures.  He always said he lived his life through us.  Roger was not only a hero to his Country, he was a hero to his family.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the doctors and staff at Penrose Hospital and the doctors at Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery Associates for their diligence, astounding care and wonderful compassion shown to our family during this devastating time.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Bret & Michelle, Allen & I are so sorry to here about your dads death. Jenny texted us Rogers Obituary tonite. Such a loss to have lost such a gracious gentle sole. Allen & I were reminiscing about our Monument and Palmer Louis High School days, where Kim Cooper knew Bret. And Jenny and you Michelle were such close friends back then. I adored your mom & to this day have that painting hanging up in my living room she did from just a post card of my American Indian art print of Teepees by a river bank. But Bret, You stoled the first one she did for me cause you liked it! Then it took her months to get the second one completed for me! However I forgive you as the painting still looks absolutely beautifully now as it did the day she painted it for me. And Allen remembers putting lights on the length of your driveway in Monument. Plus all our get togethers at Palmer Lake for the 4th of July fireworks, so many happy memories. Please accept our deepest sorrow and sympathy over the loss of your beloved Dad and for your kids the loss of a GrandPa. Take care, Al & Cathy Smith from Anchorage AK.
