Robert Samuel Wilbraham

robert wilbraham

Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 14, 1928 to Robert C. and Gertrude Wilbraham. At the age of 16, his Uncle Bud and Aunt Alice led him to the Lord. Bob served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War, and met The Navigators through its military ministry in 1951. After his discharge, he lived with Navigators in Norfolk, Virginia, who furthered his biblical training. He moved to Colorado Springs when The Navigators purchased Glen Eyrie and worked on renovations while continuing his staff training. At Glen Eyrie he met Margie. They were married September 1, 1956, and two months later they were headed to Germany with the Navigators. Bob and Margie served American servicemen in Germany for a year, and then opened student ministries in Copenhagen, Denmark, and later in Bergen, Norway. After 16 years in Europe, they returned to the States. Bob and his family settled in Denver where he helped develop The 2:7 Series and the church discipleship ministry. Bob and Margie continued their ministry in the Denver area, discipling men and women through their church and praying daily for their neighbors. Margie passed away unexpectedly in May 1994. Two years later, Bob was introduced to Henrietta by his pastor's wife. Bob and Henrietta were married April 5, 1997, and Henrietta joined in Bob's ministry, regularly hosting neighbors in their home. Bob officially retired from The Navigators in 2013. Upon his retirement, his ministry leader, Bob Adgate, said, "Your part in the development team for The 2:7 Series and personal ministry to churches continues to bear fruit across the Body of Christ. We are grateful for the way you have modeled a deep commitment to the Lord. You have influenced many as a man of the Word and prayer." Bob is survived by his wife, Henrietta, and his five children and their families: Steve and Lauri Wilbraham, Susie and Frane Kapus, Sheryl and Chris Brumley, Scott and Shauna Wilbraham, and Sandra Wilbraham; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren
