Robert L. "Bob" Erickson

Robert 'Bob' Laverne Erickson, 85, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on February 24, 2016 at the home of his daughter, Deanna and Brad Maston, in Loveland, CO after a brief illness. Bob was preceded in death by brother Eugene, his parents Carma and Hallie, grandson Neil, wife Hazel and nephew Greg. He is survived by his wife Marylin, sisters Norma (Joe) Nelson (TX), Pat (Jack) Walker (LA) and Marian (Clayton) Darlington (IL); sons Steven (Nancy) and Glenn (Chris), daughters Rebecca Hall (WV) and Deanna (Brad) Maston, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Bob was born on October 13, 1930 in Seneca, Illinois. He was a man of God, and could often be seen reading his Bible. He served in the Army in Germany during the Korean War, coming home in '52, and then honorably discharged in 1958. Back home, he started a family and worked at the Prairie State Paper Mill in Joliet, Illinois for 20 years. In 1974, Bob and family moved from New Lenox, Illinois to Colorado Springs. Bob loved gardening and traveling to see family, and did plenty of both after retiring. Funeral services will be held at the Springs Funeral Service Chapel, at 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. The viewing will be at 12 pm, and the funeral service at 1 pm. After, interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway (Colorado Springs, CO 80909), with military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard.
