Robert "Bob" Lloyd, 73 of Northglenn, Colorado passed away on Monday March, 28, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Diane Lloyd, his two sons, Daniel Lloyd and David Lloyd, his daughter Rebecca Post, his 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and 2 dogs. Bob was born on October 4th in Georgia where he lived for some time before moving to Hazel Park Michigan when he was 10 years old. His father passed away when he was 15 years old and which caused Bob to help his mother support his family. He graduated from Hazel Park High School and enlisted into the United States Airforce where he was a Military Police Officer for 5 years. While in the U.S. Airforce, he met the love if his life Diane. Bob new she was the one that he was going to marry. After serving in the Airforce, Bob came back to Michigan and married Diane. He dedicated 20 years of his life as a Detroit Police Officer in the Mobile Tactical Unit. Bob enjoyed being Cub Scout Master, Past Master of the Free and Accepted Tuebor Masonic Lodge 573, coached baseball, and basketball, flag football, camping and spending time with his family. Bob decided to retire from Detroit Police Department and move his family to Thornton Colorado where he work for Thornton Police Department as their Senior Crime Scene Investigator in February, 1987. There he investigated several high profile cases and worked closely with the detective unit to solve many others. While he was working for Thornton Police, Bob was a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police, he taught at the FBI Academy at Quantico Virginia, guest lectured at Northwestern University, Chicago Illinois and at the Arapahoe Community College Law Enforcement Academy for 28 years. Bob retired from Thornton Police in 2009. His love of law enforcement allowed him to continue to teach new police recruits until 2016. Bob had a love for life, his family and always loved telling stories of the many experiences as a Police Officer and a Crime Scene Investigator. Funeral Service will be held at the Broomfield United Methodist Church at 545 W. 10th Avenue in Broomfield, Colorado, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. There will a viewing at 10:00am and services will begin at 11:00am. Interment will be at Ft. Logan Cemetery at 1:30pm. Reception will be held back at the United Methodist Church after Internment. around 3PM. Card and/or Donations for the family may be made to the Thornton Police Officer Association, FOP Lodge 16, P.O. Box 29232, Thornton, CO 80229

PLEASE USE CAUTION AND OBSERVE ALL TRAFFIC LAWS WHILE DRIVING TO THE CEMETERY
