Robert Drew

April 27, 1931 ~ January 8, 2025
Robert Louis Drew, 93, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 8, 2025.
Born on April 27, 1931, in Denver, Colorado, Bob was the only child of George and Edith Drew. After the untimely passing of his father, Bob was raised by his mother and his stepfather Brady Bridges who was a father figure to Bob.
In 1954, Bob met the love of his life, Carol Hutchison, at what is now the University of Northern Colorado. Together they had three children: Ellen, Marty (Wife, Cathy), and Charlie (Wife, Julie). Bob took immense pride in his family, which grew to include five grandchildren—Aaron, Taylor, Drew, Larissa, and Connor—and five great-grandchildren: Abigale, Henry, Lola, Nora, and Waylon.
A man of many passions, Bob was a dedicated friend and an exceptional father and grandfather. He had a profound love for music and the outdoors, and he enjoyed skiing well into his 90s. His adventurous spirit led him to live and teach on Guam and Saipan, create and operate a classical music tour business, and travel to Central and South America to learn Spanish while participating in volunteer projects in underserved communities. Additionally, Bob shared his love for skiing by teaching in the Winter Park Handicap Skiing Program.
Bob devoted much of his career to Arvada West High School, where he served as a guidance counselor. He made a significant impact on countless students, particularly at-risk youth, through a program he helped develop called Senior Seminar.
For over fifty years, Bob and Carol were active members of the Jefferson Unitarian Church, where they contributed to the church community in numerous ways. Bob served as President of JUC three times. After Carol’s passing in September 2017, Bob remained active in JUC by participating in the church choir, continued with his men’s group of 25 years and serving on various church committees.
Bob lived a life full of joy, love, and adventure, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his remarkable life at the Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Ave., Golden, CO 80401 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 12. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Jeffco Action Center in memory of Bob.
some really wondrous work on behalf of the owner of this website , absolutely outstanding content material.
Bob was, and still is a source of inspiration as to how to live life to the fullest and approach every day and situation in a positive way. Over decades, he and Carol stood out as people I always wanted to talk to, not only to get an update on their lives, but be truly uplifted during simple conversation.
I have enjoyed many times in the outdoors with him and remember several times running into him during lunch break at Loveland ski area, surrounded by a group of friends. He brought a smile to all those around him and his memory will continue to brighten our lives.
