Born in: Denver, Colorado
Resided in: Arvada, Colorado

Robert “Bob” Sprinkle, 90, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, and went home to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Bob was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 13, 1935. He graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1953 and attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, graduating in 1955.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Lee Sprinkle of Denver; his older sister, JoAnn Abbott of Vashon Island, Washington; and his younger sister, Janet Brownlee of Buffalo, Wyoming. He is survived by his younger brother, Dale Sprinkle (Ann) of Green Valley, Arizona. Bob was also loved by his friend Carol Dupree of Grand Junction, Colorado.

Bob was an exceptional athlete. In high school, he lettered in four sports: football (halfback), basketball (point guard), baseball (shortstop and cleanup hitter), and track (pole vault). During his senior year, he led the State in football scoring and was named First Team All-State. He continued to excel athletically in three sports while attending Mesa College. Later in life Bob loved to bowl and had several perfect 300 score games.

Bob proudly served three years in the United States Marine Corps, primarily stationed at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. In recognition of his athletic abilities, he was assigned to Special Services.

San Diego was Bob’s home for many years—friends often joked that you couldn’t get him to leave with a stick of dynamite. Eventually, however, he chose a quieter life and relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado. In his final years, he resided in an assisted living facility in Arvada, Colorado to be near his niece Julie Peter who oversaw his care.

Bob’s career was in trucking, and his long-haul routes took him across much of the United States. He often shared stories from the road, including one memorable incident in Brooklyn, New York, where he found himself navigating a large 18-wheeler down a narrow residential street. He managed to get out—though not without leaving a bit of paint behind on a few parked cars. It became a story he could laugh about, even if his boss did not at the time.

Later, Bob chose to work for himself, owning and operating a dump truck business. His skill and professionalism as a driver led to his appointment as a Commercial Driver’s License testing agent in both California and Colorado.

Since Bob became a Christian until the very end, he continued to be involved in his Bible reading, attended Church in person or in the end on T.V. and streaming and would give out Tracts sharing the gospel of Christ.

Bob will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery on May 1, 2026 with military honors and surrounded by his loved ones memorializing him.
