Richard M. Barnes
Richard M. Barnes, that is, Rich, passed over on this Father’s Day, June 18, 2017 at his home in Conifer; he was 79 years old. Rich was born on May 13, 1938 in Creston City, Iowa, but he spent his childhood being raised in Denver, Colorado. Rich and Judy have lived in Conifer, Colorado since 1992.
Rich leaves behind his wife Judith, or Judy. Rich and Judy would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this coming August 8th. Rich is also survived by his 2 children; Dianna Roder and husband Nicholas as well as Rick Barnes and daughter-in-law Anita. Above all, 4 beautiful grandchildren; Zach and Ali (Damian Schlereth) Barnes as well as Nick and Sean Roder. Also left behind, his brother Tim Barnes (Jody) and sister’s Debbie Dungan (Mike), Donna Logan (Pat) and sister-in-law Val (Bill) along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rich’s career spanned from 1969 to 2009 in the public accounting industry as he was a Certified Public Accountant, owning his own business, Richard M. Barnes, CPA, for the last 20 years.
Rich’s 1st passion was family and 2nd passion fishing, or maybe vice versa (Rich’s 3rd, 4th and 5th passions were also fishing). “Oh yeah, he liked champagne and caviar too…”
A Celebration of Rich’s life will be held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel on Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a get together at 3 Margaritas Conifer, CO around 1:00 PM
