Richard “Dick” Lee LaCrue, aged 77, residing in Morrison, CO passed away on November 2, 2022. Dick
was born on February 2, 1945, in Trinidad, CO to John A. and Dora LaCrue. He is preceded in death by his
parents and brothers, John and Vernon. He is survived by his sister Marcella Gonzales, his wife Bernice,
his four children Connie (Lonnie), Patricia (Louie), Rich (Chris), and Danielle; his nine grandchildren:
Anjelic, Marina, Paul (Erika), Bryana, Sami, Jacob, Dimitri, Kayla, and Abbey; his nine great-
grandchildren: Yasmine, Ilena, Izaiah, Gracie, Esperanza, Joziah, Emeri, Aviana, and Emma; and his two
puppers, Reese’s and Roxie.
Dick was a woodworker by trade, a passion he developed in high school and passed on to his children.
He quickly rose through the ranks becoming a foreman, then superintendent and finally vice president
at Wood Workers of Denver before retiring in 2009.
He was selfless, easygoing, and proud of his family – he never missed a chance to brag about his children
or grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was a holiday, a BBQ, camping,
watching a softball game, or taking a vacation. He had many hobbies including bowling, golfing, and
checking in on his people. He also enjoyed watching his Hallmark movies and the Broncos and Rockies
on TV, listening to his oldies station on the way to the Breakfast King, and eating boxes of See’s Candies
and containers of Cool Whip.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 11:00 am, at St. Jude Catholic
Church 9405 W. Florida Ave., Lakewood, CO 80232. Viewing prior to 11:00 am Mass. Reception to
follow at the St. Jude Catholic Church Community Center. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate
a donation to a charity of choice.
