April 8, 1978 ~ July 3, 2016
Richard 'Rick' Dean Dwight III was born April 8, 1978, In Los Angeles CA , to Sherrie Jean Messinger and Richard Dean Dwight II. Coming into the world at 10 lbs and 23 inches long; he was always a very strong child. Learning to walk by 9 months, and always getting into the cookie jar. In 1982, at the age of 4 the family moved to Colorado just after his younger and only brother Joshua Adam Dwight was born. Rick told his mom to 'take that baby back to the hospital', but; as they grew older they became the best of friends. He was always such a good role model to his younger brother, Josh always wanted to do the same things as Rick and his friends. They did everything together including building ramps and jumping bikes against their moms wishes. Whenever mom couldn't find them, she knew they would be at the fishing hole. By the age of 13, Rick played baseball for the Golden Rec Center, but only for a year. As the team had little success. His love of the outdoors came pretty early in age as he was able go hunting with his step father Lee Messinger, and it continued to grow through his life. He attended Golden High School, where he gained his love for shop class. He always loved working with his hands, taking things apart and putting them back together. After high school, he begain his career as a glazier; following in his dad's footsteps. In 1999, he met the love of his life, Nicole Brill, although neither of them would know this for 12 years. They never denied their connection and always kept in touch. As there lives went on Rick met Amber McCallister, the mother of his first born daughter. On April 28, 2006; Alyssa Nicole Dwight was born. She was the twinkle of her daddy's eye and he was very proud the be her father. They spent so much time together she quickly became a daddys girl, and grew the same love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially camping. On July 11, 2011, Rick and Nicole had their first official date, there was no turning back from there and they became inseperatable. The union of he two fulfilled Rick's dreams of having a family as he happily became daddy to Nicole's children, Brianna Paige and Lucas James. Rick worked very hard to provide for his family on all levels, and loved nothing more than spending time with them. On July 3, 2014, Rick and Nicole's daughter Lynnox Lee Dwight was born and completed their family of 6. Some of things the family loved to do was bowling, fishing, camping and going to the drive inn. Rick always encouraged the kids to try new things and even taught the girls to shoot guns. In 2015, the family bought camping property up in Hartsel Co, where they spent many weekends and created many everlasting memories. On July 3, 2016, at the age of 38, Rick passed away at the families property that he loved being at so much, surrounded by his family. We will all remember Rick as the family man that loved being surrounded by his parents, brother Josh's family and Nicole's family. Rick was a very dedicated employee for El Paso Glass.
