 Richard Allen McNeal, "Rick", formerly of Tiffin, OH passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Denver CO.  Although he had brain surgery and a minor stroke in July of 2010 he was well on the way to recovery.

 
Rick was born November 25, 1935 to Sidney E. and Idona Brillhart McNeal. He graduated from Columbian High School  in 1953, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hiram College in 1957 and attended University of Chicago graduate school.
 
Rick served in the Army and was honorably discharged in July of 1960.  He then was employed in the computer division of Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in Cleveland and Columbus, OH.
 
Once in Colorado he was engaged in Real Estate and Construction through R.A.M. Ventures.  He was a past Vice President of Denver Rail Heritage Society which was instrumental in the revival of the "golden era of rail transportation in the city of Denver" and was recognized by then Mayor Frederico Pena. He was also Director of the Denver Trolley Fest in 1989.  Always interested in trains, railroads and bringing light rail transportation throughout Denver, he remained a constant attendee of open Regional Transportation Board meetings until this past July. He was a lover of saxophone jazz.
 
Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by one sister, Carolyn A. Frobase of Delaware, OH; two nieces:  Debra (James) Dunkerley of Westerville, OH and Julie (John) Ziegler of Lexington, KY.
 
Bullock Mortuary of Englewood CO was in charge of cremation and Hoffman Gottfried Mack Funeral Home the arrangements in Tiffin OH. Graveside services will be held in late June at Rock Creek Cemetery,Tiffin OH.
