Regina Margaret Price, 84, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026. Born in Washington
D.C., Regina grew up as a military child before eventually making Colorado her home. She lived
in Denver and raised her family there, creating a life centered around family, hard work,
compassion, and love.
Regina received a degree in microbiology from the University of Maryland before moving to
Colorado, where she worked in a laboratory at the University of Colorado. She later met and
married James L. Price and together they raised their four children: James Price (married to
Donna), Jenette VanWormer (married to Kevin), Marcella Price (married to Christian), and
Jeffrey Price (married to Michael). After raising her family, Regina returned to the field she
loved, earning her medical technologist license. She spent 25 years working in the Complement
Lab in the Department of Immunology at National Jewish Hospital. She loved her work and took
great pride in what she did.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family—especially her five grandsons: Calvin VanWormer,
Kenneth VanWormer, Duncan Pearson, Stephen Price, and Mitchell Price. Regina loved caring
for her grandsons when they were young and continued to be one of their biggest supporters as
they grew older. She could often be found on the sidelines and in the stands, cheering them on
at football, lacrosse, soccer, track, baseball, and golf.
Regina was also an excellent baker. Her homemade pies and shortbread cookies were favorites
of family and friends. Her shortbread recipe, inherited from Grandma Jessie Price, became one
of the many traditions she passed down to the next generation.
She was very active and loved the outdoors. She made walking and hiking part of her everyday
life, often saying that any little trail she happened to notice was “calling her name.” She also had
an extraordinary love for animals. Regina was never without a dog and throughout her life had
many cats and even a rabbit. Rather than getting her pets from shelters, she welcomed animals
who needed a new home from neighbors and family members, giving them a place to belong.
Above all, Regina will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unconditional love, and
extraordinary generosity. She gave freely of her time, attention, and love to the people around
her. She had a way of making others feel cared for and accepted, and her kindness was one of
the defining qualities of her life. To those who knew and loved her, Regina was truly one of
God’s angels on Earth.
Regina was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Snyder, and her sister, Frances Snyder.
She is survived by her sister, Glena Kelso; her brother, Randall Snyder; her four children and
five beloved grandsons; and the many extended family members and friends whose lives she
touched.
Her family will carry her love, her kindness, and the many traditions she created with them for
generations to come.
