Raymond Frederick "Skipp" Coffey
March 29, 1944 ~ January 22, 2016
Raymond Frederick Coffey, aka Skipp, 71, of Jupiter, FL, left us on January 22, 2016. His strong will and lasting wit proved no match for a body weakened by brain cancer. Skipp was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Marge Coffey and two sisters, Sheri and Joy. Skipp graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1997 obtaining his PhD in Human Relations. He valued education and continuously strived to improve himself with an increasing knowledge of various topics. He was passionate about history, especially military history and kept current on the latest technology. Skipp was an avid 'sports fan' and was highly enthusiastic about football (not necessarily any specific team, just the team that looked the best throughout the season) dragsters and golf. Skipp served in the USAF, attaining the highest level of non-commissioned officer, Chief Master Sergeant. During his twenty-year career, he was honored with numerous awards, certificates and achievements. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued his endeavors with the Department of Defense for an additional 15 years, retiring completely in 1997. Skipp was born March 29, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio and is survived by his sister, Carol Buell of Georgia, his children's Mother, Dee Reynolds (Marlyne) his children, Scott Coffey (Rene), Stacy Coffey (Robbey), grandchildren Josh 30, Taylor 25, Justin 23, Colter 21, Hayleigh 10, step grandchildren Ashley 21, Tyler 20, MacKenzie 16 and great-grandchildren Lailah 4 and Logan 1. Family and home mattered to Skipp; somewhat stubborn, he lived by his own rules. His sense of right and wrong, his work ethic, his integrity and his dedication to his family are traits that were passed on to his children. He was loved and we are grateful for the time we had to share with him and all the many life lessons he taught us. Services will be held at 1PM April 8, 2016 at Crown Hill Pavilion, 7777 W. 29th Ave Wheat Ridge, Co. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave in Denver, Co immediately following the Service. Friends and Family are invited to join us afterwards for a celebration of Skipps life at 6729 W. 67th Ave in Arvada, Co. Tears are not allowed. XOXOXO
