Patricia Ellen Coffey Born: October 21, 1936 Passed June 2, 2023
Patricia was born to Mildred and Edwin Sanborn in 1936 in Jefferson
Colorado. Pat graduated from Littleton High School in 1954 and that is where she
met Charles E Coffey of Littleton. Shortly after high school, she married Charles E
Coffey. Together they raised eight children Randy Coffey, Cheri Bourgeois, Greg
Coffey, David Coffey, Leigh Ann Mauel, Julie McCallum, Erin Noren Coffey, and
Shannon Fonte. The family started in a tiny bungalow in Englewood, and in 1961
they moved to her current home in Littleton on Brentwood St.

Pat had 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-
grandchild. To say that one of her biggest joys in her life was spending time with

children, would be an understatement! The Brentwood home became the
neighborhood gathering place for all the neighboring children. It was also a
gathering place for many family holidays. There was never a dull moment in the
Coffey house.
Music lessons, 4-H, swimming lessons, sports, ballet, pigeon racing, and a
card game or two. From horses to chickens, a beehive or two, along with cats,
dogs, and a family pig, the door was always open.
When Pat was about 50, she took up jogging and exercising, even running
in many a Boulder Bolder race. In her late 60’s she graduated from the Boulder
school of Massage Therapy. She loved to hike with her sister, and in her 70s she
hiked mount Bierstadt and did a 14er. She loved the outdoors and started
volunteering at the Denver Botanical Gardens, joined a local toastmaster's group,
and in 2011 she started participating in the yearly healing run for the Sand Creek
Massacre. In her final years, Pat’s search for self-healing and caring for mother
earth became a huge part of her world.
