Patricia Jonas, of Littleton, Colorado passed on Monday, March 14, 2011 at home surrounded by her entire family.  She was preceded in death by Arthur Jonas, husband of 30 years, brother Francis, and sister Maxine.

Born four miles outside of Lemmon, South Dakota, March 17, 1934, to Pete and Theresa Reba.  When she was seven years old she moved to Minnesota, where her dad made bullets during the World War II.  She then moved back to Lemmon a year later, where Pat attended Catholic school with the nuns.  Pat met a strapping young Navy man when she was 15 and married him 6 years later.  She spent much of her young life helping her mother and babysitting for her brother, she loved playing with paper dolls.  On June 21, 1956 Pat and Art were blessed with their only child, Susan.

In 1957 her and her family moved to Colorado.  They spent many family vacations going back to Lemmon, South Dakota, where her family was.  She helped support her family by cleaning houses for 13 years.  Pat and Art bought a donut shop called J's Donuts and owned it for 2 years. They sold it and she started working at King Soopers, as a Baker.  She retired from King Soopers after 20 years in October 2000.

She spent great deal of her life helping raise her four grandchildren.  There were not many days that went by that her daughter and grandchildren did not see her.  She would even take them to work with her on take your daughter to work day.  She spoiled her four grandchildren.  She never missed a soccer game, pool day, holiday, birthday, or school play.  Her phone number was the first one her grandchildren learned to dial.  They would often call and tell her they needed her and she would always be there within minutes.  When the grandchildren would get sick of their parents they would always run straight to her house, where she would take them to get Chinese food and ice cream.  She was always willing to make chocolate chip cookies for them, which soon became famous across all of their friends.

Her hobbies included embroidering and gardening.  Her favorite color was pink.  She loved candy, candy, and more candy.

Pat is survived by her brother, David, her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bill, grandchildren Brian and Kelly, Emily and Cody, Heather and Jason, and Wesley.

There will be a Rosary led by her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren at Bullock Mortuary at 5:00 pm on Sunday.  The funeral service will be held at Saint Frances Cabrini at 10:30 am on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
