Pam was born in Greeley, CO. to Robert & Ruth (Burke) Sumner. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and attended Phillips University and UC-Boulder. She married John Cokins Feb. 2, 1963 and they raised their children Rebeccca and William in Green Bay, WI.
Preceded in death by her husband John & her son Bill. .After John’s death in 2002, Pam moved back to Colorado.
Survived by her daughter Becky (Mike) Hammer, daughter-in-law Eileen Cokins, grandchildren Caitlin (Bryon) Hoerner, John (Becca) Cokins, Jessie Cokins, Sam (Elena) Hammer & Ryan (Lisa) Hammer, great-grandchildren Thaxton & Quinn Hoerner, siblings Bob (Barb) Sumner & Becky (Doug) Hill, brother-in-law George (Peg) Cokins and MANY dear friends.
Pam was an avid bridge player and an active member of P.E.O. and the Wheat Ridge Congregational Church.
Services will be held August 13, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Wheat Ridge Congregational Church, 6310 W 29th St, Wheat Ridge, CO 80214, with a luncheon to follow.

Pam was a close friend when I was in junior high and high school. When she returned to Colorado after 40 years in other places, we connected again. We were again close friends. She was kind, loyal, fun, smart, and generous. She was also a salesperson supreme. Over several years for our respective PEO chapters to fund scholarships for women, we coordinated our chapters selling butter braids and winter greenery respectively. She always sold more than any one person in my chapter. I will miss our twice monthly lunches ever since the Covid setback. Her’s was a life well-lived.
What a dear friend!! We shared many, many bridge games and lunches. And always, the butter braids and floral pieces at Christmas. We shared our love of fellow Wheatridge Church members, the Daly’s.
Always cheerful and positive, always with a big smile. She will be missed!
My condolences to her family and friends. I know she will be greatly missed by all.
