Neola Kennedy of Sheridan, Colorado (formerly of Butte, Montana) passed away at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Andrews Village in Aurora, Colorado at age 87. Neola was born in Butte, Montana on January 12, 1932 to Neal and Anne (Sloan) Murphy. She attended Butte High School. In 1951, Neola married Thomas Kennedy of Butte, Montana. The Kennedy family lived in Sheridan, Colorado for 43 years.
Neola loved family events and singing and had a beautiful singing voice. As a young woman she sang at weddings and other events in her hometown. She particularly liked Country and Irish music.
Neola is survived by her five children; Thomas Neil Kennedy, Karen Anne Kennedy, Jerry Paul Kennedy, Janet Irene Kennedy, and Lois Marie Kennedy (Walker).
Neola was a very kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed. Neola is also a wonderful grandmother to eight grandchildren; Sean Kennedy, Dana Kennedy, Justin Kennedy, Kris Kennedy, Jamie Downs, Cassandra Kennedy, Holly Walker, and Rebecca Walker. And, to her 18 great-grandchildren.
Neola was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Kennedy and brothers Edward Murphy and John Murphy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at St Paul's Community Church, 8001 West 23rd Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80214.
