Moira Hopper

Moira Hopper was born in Avonmouth, England to Samual and Florence McClune on January 13, 1925 and died December 7, 2013, in Denver, Colorado at the Denver Hospice Facility.
Moira was preceded in death by her parents, and in 1992 by her husband Dwight after 49 years of marriage; her grandson, Patrick J. Hopper Jr. in 1994, brother John, and sister-in-law Gwen McClune of London, England in 2011.
Moira is survived by her sons, Michael Sr. (Leah)  of Phoenix, AZ, and Patrick (Barbara) of Siloam Springs, AR;  a daughter, Susan, of Englewood, Colorado; long time friend Joan Anderson, of Englewood, niece Margaret (Peter) Fitz-Hugh, and nephew Patrick McClune of London.
Moira leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Moira survived the London blitz during World War II and met husband Dwight, a US Army Air Corps Sergent who was based outside London in 1944. They were married in Glasgow, Scotland and relocated to Colorado.
Moira had a quiet inner beauty and compassion for others which she demonstrated often.  She did not seek praise or recognition and always wished to remain anonymous even after she saved a drowning boy at Broadstairs, England at age 13. She was recognized by "The Royal Life Saving Society" of Bristol, England for this unselfish act of bravery.
Moira was a dedicated mother, home maker, and wife.  She also worked in retail, retiring from Woolworth's Department store.
Moira enjoyed many outings and activities at the Malley Senior Center, the outdoors, camping with family, fishing, boating, water skiing at Lake Granby and Shadow Mtn. reservoir, and loved her yearly excursions to Guanella Pass.
Moira had a keen British sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke.  She enjoyed Colorado sports, however the Denver Broncos were her favorite!
