Michael Milligan
October 26, 1995 ~ November 30, 2023
Michael Glenn Milligan, 28, of the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Denver, CO was taken from us unexpectedly on 11/30/2023. He leaves behind a legacy of vibrant passion and love.
Michael was born 10/26/1995 in Vienna, VA, to Douglas and Debra Milligan. He attended Oakton Elementary School through 2006. During his early years in Virginia, Michael excelled in Little League Baseball and Vienna Youth Soccer, often forming formidable alliances of team-mates during game-time to secure last minute victories.
His mother, Debra, kept and bred Keeshonds on the family’s Virginia property. To Michael’s delight, these Dutch barge dogs would bark frantically from poolside when Michel’s head was under water, but quiet down when Michael’s head rose above the water’s surface. Sadly, Debra passed away 11/10/2002, after a three-year battle with lung cancer – which she fought most courageously.
Moving to Tulsa, OK in 2006 with his father, Michael attended Monte Cassino Middle School and later graduated from Cascia Hall Preparatory School in 2014. During his time at Cascia Hall, Michael played football and rugby, took several AP classes, and participated in the National Merit Scholar Program. He thoroughly enjoyed the loving, nurturing care he received from the Sheehan family, mother Mary Martha Sheehan and her two daughters: Kathleen Frash and Molly Coen during his days in Tulsa.
After graduation from Cascia Hall, Michael departed for Colorado Springs in 2014, where he worked a variety of jobs - ranging from masonry demolition/reconstruction work, to retail sales of office and computer supplies. Subsequentially, Michael moved to Denver 2016 where he created the now defunct Denver Mobile Detailing, LLC.
Michael recently began studying financial markets and technical analysis. He created fictional accounts designed to test his financial theories – without any actual financial loss. Despite these varied interests, Michael always found the most joy on the slopes of the Rockies as a snowboarder and hiker. He cherished nature's beauty, finding freedom in every trail he explored.
Michael is survived by his half-brother Bobby Knapp of Leesburg, VA, half-sister Shannon Bell of New Market, MD, uncle David Milligan of Laurelville, OH, father Douglas Milligan of Vienna, VA, very special girlfriend KayCee Grant and her daughter Itzel Vargas – both of Denver, CO, Kathleen Frash and Molly Coen – both of Columbus Ohio, as well as a close-knit community of peers and friends. Michael was predeceased by loving mentor Mary Martha Sheehan (2016) and his uncle Greg Milligan (2018).
A memorial service will be held November 16th, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at ‘The Art Social’, 209 Kalamath St, Unit 12, Denver, CO, 80223. Continued celebration will take place at Cheesman Park below Michael’s last residence where any/all may walk one of Michael’s favorite paths prior to watching the evening’s sunset over the Rockies, a sight that Michael so much enjoyed.
