Matthew Maurice Jones

 Matthew Maurice Jones (known as Maury or Matt), most recently of Fort Collins, Colorado (formerly of Englewood and Littleton) passed away at 6:05 pm on Monday, October 11, 2010 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 86.  Maury was born in Littleton, Colorado on May 9, 1924 to John and Mary Agnes (Mayme) Jones.  He graduated from Littleton High School in 1941 and joined the United States Army where he served 4 years in the Pacific during World War II.  In 1948 Maury married Myrtle I. Sletten of Englewood, Colorado.  Son Kevin was born in 1953.  The Jones family lived primarily in Englewood, Colorado but spent a number of years in Southern California due to Maury's work in television.  Maury shifted careers in the mid 1970's to the food industry where he worked for several food brokerages through the late 1990's.  In 2004 Maury moved to Fort Collins to be nearer to his family.

Maury is survived by his son Kevin, daughter-in-law Bonnie Petty-Jones and grandchildren Chris and Shannon Jones.  He was a good, good man and will be sorely missed.

The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Eliz Albritton and her office staff for their sincere kindness in Maury's final years.  Also Dawn, RN and the staff of McKee Medical Center for all of the compassion they extended Maury in his final hours.
