Matthew Belle

August 25, 1958 - April 10, 2020

It is with sadness that the family of Matthew Belle announce his passing after a brief illness.  Matt will be lovingly remembered by his four siblings,  Suzanne Bassett  (Kurt),  Kathleen Knowlton  (Tim),  Diane Matoush,  and Chris Belle  (Ellen) and by his five nieces,  Janna Stewart, Sarah Knowlton,  Hilary Vigil, Jessica Belle and Carolyn Belle.

Matt was born in Denver, Colorado, the fifth child of Carl F. Belle and Ida M. Belle.  He was raised in Englewood, Colorado and  lived there his entire life.   A graduate of Englewood High School,  Matt worked as a doorman at the Park Lane Towers Condominiums for the past 20 years where he enjoyed assisting residents and participating in holiday parties with his fellow employees.   Matt was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and horror movies as well as anything to do with UFOs!   He always bought a fishing license and enjoyed fishing, although he never seemed to catch any fish.  He kept fit by exercising  at the Malley Senior Recreation Center after attending morning Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church.    He loved his cat, Whiskers, who appeared at his doorstep a few years ago and decided to stay.

Matt suffered a stroke in early March from which he never recovered.  Chris and Ellen brought him into their home where they lovingly cared for him until his death.  Fittingly, Matt died on Good Friday.  He would have life liked that.  Matt often ended phone calls by saying "God Bless".   We his family say to him "God Bless you Matt, we will miss you."

The continued restrictions due to the  Corona Virus prevents a funeral at this time.  The family will host a celebration of Matt's life later this summer.  Matt was laid to rest at Littleton Cemetery in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish make a contribution to the charity of your choice in Matt's name.
