Mary Ann Flanagan

October 14, 1935 ~ November 27, 2020
Mary Ann Flanagan, 85, went peacefully in her sleep on November 27, 2020 at Cedars Health Care Center in Lakewood, CO where she was cared for after her dementia became advanced.
She was born in Fort Pierce, Florida to parents Harold Woolley and Willie Mae Johnson.
Mary Ann had a variety of interesting jobs throughout her life including being a carhop on roller skates, she was employed at a few Denver area radio and television stations, she owned her own catering business, she was a bookkeeper at a Disco in Arvada, she also worked as an accountant/assistant manager at the Lakewood Elks. She was an active member of the Lodge for many years.
After marriage to George Robert Flanagan, she lived for a time in England, and France before coming to Lakewood, CO where she raised two daughters, Kathleen, and Patricia and one son Brian. Working as an accountant for Mobile Oil she moved to Bakersfield, CA until retirement, then returned to Lakewood permanently.
She enjoyed Ballroom dancing and playing Bridge. She was exceptionally good at both. She was liked by everyone who meet her and loved dearly by those lucky enough to have known her well. She was kind and generous by nature. She will be remembered fondly by her many friends and family members.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Stork-Bullock Mortuary doors open at 1PM followed by the service at 2pm.

I grew up next door to where Mary Ann lived in Lakewood with her family. Being slightly older than her children I did not know them well but remember playing in their basement and watching The Monkees on TV. My memory of Mary Ann as a child was that she looked like a movie star to me. She was beautiful!
