Mable E. Jones

 

Mable was born November 18, 1920 in Calhan, Colorado to Paul Huston and Maryann (Winkler) Huston.  She passed away January 13, 2015 in Littleton, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband Tom R. Jones, brother George Huston and sisters Anna Louise Coe and Miriam Keck. Mable is survived by her nephew, Paul P. Huston, Jan Huston Beeson (niece), cousins Barbara Gieck, Sandra Tanner and Sherri Caussin, great nieces Jane McCauley, Susan McCauley and Mary Beeson.

Mable led a long and productive life. She was a secretary to a vice president of Gates Rubber Company working there for over 40 years. With her husband Tom, she traveled the world, fishing, camping and the great outdoors were some of the activities that took up any free time. She was a kind and gracious woman who will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Fort Logan National Cemetery.

I worked with Mabs at Gates for many years and considered her a mentor in many ways, as well as friend, and neighbor (I lived a few blocks from her).  I regret that I didn't maintain better contact following her retirement, but we carpooled many times to Gates.  I truly respected her as a person and was amazed at the courage she showed throughout her physical disabilities.
