February 8, 1956 ~ May 18, 2006
Lynn Alan Dodrill was born on February 8, 1956 to Hope and Marvin Dodrill. He was the third of four children. he was born at Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He attended North Grade School, flood middle School, and graduated in the top ten from Englewood High School. From early on, Lynn was always involved in music and sports. He played trombone in the Junior Police Band and the Englewood High school marching band, and he started to play guitar when he was in fourth grade. He excelled in sports from early on participation in basketball, baseball, and football. Lynn attended First Christian Church (now Englewood Bible Church) with his family, and he came to a saving knowledge of the Lord at an early age. During high school, he was involved in the First Christian youth group. after graduating from high school in 1974, he attended Colorado State university. He graduated from CSU in 1978 with a degree in Industrial Arts. He accepted a job teaching high school in Los Alamos, New Mexico. There, he coached girl's softball and was an assistant coach for the football team. Lynn returned to the Denver area two years later and took a job at Martin Marietta. God brought him back to Colorado at just the right time because on his first day of work at Martin, his dad passed away. Lynn was 24. About a year later, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Cangilla. They were married December 26, 1981. Lynn and Kathy were blessed with three children Sarah, Steven, and Emily. Lynn and Kathy raised their children here at Englewood Bible Church as Lynn led Bible studies, taught Sunday school, served as an elder, directed the choir, went on a mission trip to Russia, and lead worship. His life was also full of coaching his kid's sports teams, going on family outings, enjoying his many friends, playing on sports teams, golfing, singing in quartets, and traveling. One of Lynn's favorite things was taking family vacations. Lynn just finished 25 years of work at Martin and nearly 25 years of marriage. As we look back on lynn's life, we remember his love for his family, his love for his friends, and his love for his church. However, all of this stems from his tremendous love for Jesus, and his deep devotion to Him.
