Lyle Roger Schultz, son of Lawrence and Myrtle Schultz and brother to Dennis and Janet, was born on May 21, 1935 in Denver Colorado. On February 21, 1954 he enlisted in the military and proudly served in the US Army for four years. While serving, he earned both a National Defense Service Medal for his skills as a sharp shooter with an M-1 rifle and a good conduct Medal. In August 1957 he married the love of his life, Shirlee Kay Moore. He became a Denver firefighter and soon they started their family. They welcomed their daughter Lori, son Brian and son Alan. He became a diesel refrigeration mechanic, a career which he would stay in and love until retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing with his senior buddies, fishing and camping with his family and hosting poker and Nascar parties. He was beloved "Gramps" to 8 grandchildren: Erik, Leslie, Kacie, Desiray, Trevor, Adam, Cameron and Austin, as well as 7 great grandchildren: Bailee, Leyton, Gage, Madden, Elora, Aria and Elijah who were all "The apple of his eye". He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Roger was hero to his family and to all who met him. He will missed dearly. Please join the family following the burial at Ft Logan at the Cohen's residence for a reception.
