Louise Vera Lont

Louise Vera Lont (Schuck), born to John and Florence Schuck on April 10, 1920, passed away on April 28, 2016, at the age of 96 at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by husband John Lont, son Kenneth Lont, sister Ruth Riojas, and brothers John and Pete Schuck. She is survived by daughter Kathy and Jack Bol, daughter-in-law Phyllis Lont, sister Nancy and Jerry Wiberg, sister-in-law Elaine Schuck and brother-in-law Bill Lont.
Her surviving grandchildren in Denver, Colorado, are Kevin and Michelle Bol, Keith and Christy Bol and Kirk Bol; and great-grandchildren Ashleigh, Marissa, Mikaila and Erica Bol. Her surviving grandchildren in Washington are Kelly and Mike Vedders, Karlynn and Ken Johnson, Kurtis and Kim Lont and Kyle and Amber Lont; and great-grandchildren Allison, Lacey and Zachary Johnson, Kellen, Karsten, and Katrien Lont, Dylan and Danielle Vedders, and Hayden and Hallie Lont.
Louise was born and raised in Englewood, Colorado, and graduated in 1937 from Englewood High School as a member of the National Honors Society. She married John Lont and became a member of First Christian Reformed Church of Denver, Colorado, remaining an active member for 75 years where she enjoyed volunteering. Additionally, she faithfully supported Denver Christian Schools through many years of volunteer efforts. Impressively, Louise also volunteered at Porter Adventist Hospital for 46 years, and was recently recognized for amassing over 10,000 hours of service.
Throughout her life, Louise enjoyed traveling and golfing with her husband and friends, crocheting beautiful blankets for others, card games with seasoned and new players alike, and making the annual pilgrimage to Grand Lake, Colorado, to spend time with immediate and extended family. Most of all, she loved her husband, children, and siblings, doted on her grandchildren, and adored her great-grandchildren. Louise often described her favorite memories and moments as the times spent with her friends and loved ones.
In recognition of Louise's tremendous service as a volunteer at Porter Adventist Hospital, and her past support of its healing ministries, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Porter Hospital Foundation.
Memorial service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m.
