Lorraine Margaret Doubek, age 83, died on August 13, 2015. She was born in Decorah, Iowa on January 17, 1932, the daughter of Benjamin and Angela Huber. In Calmar Iowa, on August 25, 1949 she married the love of her life, Eugene (Gene) G. Doubek. They moved to Englewood, Colorado where they raised four children and enjoyed weekend retreats to their mountain property in Grand Lake, Colorado. Lorraine spent many years volunteering and she was a strong supporter of the VFW Post #9644 organization.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gene and her son, Daniel. 

Lorraine is survived by her brother, James Huber {Calmar, Iowa); son Christopher (Carol) Doubek; daughters Michelle Hall & Susan (Joseph) Martinez (DeKalb, Illinois); 7 grand children Jazzmine  Charles, Conrad, Michael, Jessica, Katie & Nick; 2 great grand children Ethan & Athena; and numerous relatives and close friends.

Veiwing and visitation will be on Tuesday, August 25th from 9:30 - 10:30 am with services following at 10:30 a.m., funeral procession will follow the services to Fort Logan National Cemetery for a graveside service scheduled at 12:15 p.m.. Reception following at VFW Post #9644, 2680 W. Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO 80110.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to your favorite charity or non-profit organization.

  3. I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with this sweet lady. She is truly one of the neatest grandmas anyone could ever have. I will always be grateful for her sharing her heart and opening up her home and property in Grand Lake. She will be greatly missed. I love you, you love me. This is something we both agree! Enjoy that big Kesslers and Diet coke in the sky! I will always remember the popeye smile and the wonderful memories! Rest in peace and God bless!
