Lorenzo Bonutti

Lorenzo Bonutti, age 81, passed away peacefully in his home in Denver, CO on Jan 26, 2026. He was born April 1, 1944 in Italy. His family immigrated to the U.S. in 1955 to search for a better life. He was proud of his Italian heritage and to be an American.
His passion was soccer. He enjoyed playing, coaching, and refereeing soccer games. Throughout his life, he took pride in his work and found joy in his accomplishments. He was a walking encyclopedia and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge in world history. Those who knew him will not only remember his wisdom but his sense of humor and the way he made people feel welcome and valued.
He was preceded in death by his parents Attilio Bonutti and Bruna Tinoonin Bonutti. Lorenzo is survived by his brothers Giancarlo Bonutti and Anthony Bonutti, Anthony’s wife, Elizabeth Bonutti, Lorenzo’s wife, Rhonda Painter, a step-son Christopher Collins and two children Mark Anthony Bonutti and Angela Bonutti. He is also survived by a nephew Christopher Bonutti and niece Victoria Yeago.
Lorenzo will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of truly knowing him.
