Guestbook

  1. Lesley was a dear friend and neighbor. She was the first person to invite me to a neighborhood gathering when my late husband and I moved in across the street fifteen years ago. She was very close with the woman who lived in my home for many years and it was fun to share the updates we made with her; she was always interested in what we were planning with the house and garden. She invited me to join her at the symphony and musicals, we often bought spring flowers together, attended Christmas markets, went out for coffee, but most often, one of us just walked across the street so we could talk about what we were up to that week. She was so generous, kind, and thoughtful. She was the best neighbor a gal could ask for, because she was my friend. I will and already do miss her dearly. ❤️

  2. We will miss you Lesley, you sweet, sweet soul. Thank you for your friendship and kindness over the years. The garden is beautiful as always thanks in part to your generosity. We were blessed to have known you. Good bye dear friend.

  3. I’m so sorry to hear of Lesley’s passing. I have memories of her from when I was a little girl and have been hearing about her traveling adventures all through my adulthood. My sincere condolences to Mrs. Dale, Barb and Jamie. I’m thinking of all of you.

  4. Lesley my dear friend I am heartbroken to learn of your untimely passing. We became fast friends when we worked together at Lutheran Hospital ER and our shared love of theater. We enjoyed so many wonderful shows at Denver Center over the years and at the Magic Pan after a performance. So many great memories. Even though I moved back to Ohio we remained friends and kept in touch through letters and phone calls over the years. I will miss you my friend.

  5. I have known Lesley all my life! We were neighbors for over 20 years and she and Connie were our babysitters when we were young. The Oggs were the most generous, tolerant family and we loved them dearly.
There was a swing set with a trapeze, rings, swing and low bar that we played on all the time. No wonder Lesley was into gymnastics, all the tools to learn were in her yard. Lesley was always sharing with me. She taught me how to use drumsticks by beating on a piece of wood, how to throw a baton (she was in band), and how to dive backwards off a springboard (they had a pool!!). I must have spent a lot of time at the Ogg’s house because Lesley taught me how to play the piano, how to use a yo-yo, and how to spin a top. She lent me her Nancy Drew books–she had the entire collection! She showed me what short-hand looked like which became a lifetime skill for her while judging gymnastics.
In 1970, Lesley and I drove to Colorado together in her Pontiac Sunbird convertible. She was going to Boulder to attend CU grad school and I was going to Ft. Collins to attend CSU. She introduced me to one of her PE students from Springfield HS, Mary, who was also starting college at CSU. Mary and I have been best friends ever since. I even met my husband through Mary. Webs of life.
Lesley lived in Lakewood, in the same townhouse, for over 50 years. She loved her home and her neighbors. I never heard her say a negative or mean thing about anyone! She was organized, precise and generous. We exchanged Christmas cards, had lunch together, and stayed in touch over all these years. It is so sad to think we will not see each other again, in person, but she will always be here. I am so thankful that she passed away peacefully, without having to endure chronic illness or the inability to enjoy all the things she loved to do. My condolences to Barb and her family, Connie, and Lesley’s Iowa cousins. She will be missed.

  6. Leslie was a part of our girls Bunco group. She was always kind and a lovely person to be around. She was also very funny!! She will be missed by many and blessed for having to know her. She now has her wings!

  7. Oh, my gosh! A friend of mine just notified me of Leslie’s passing. I remember visiting her in St. Anthony’s Hospital when she had her stroke. It seemed to me that she made a great recovery. I, too, used to play Bunco with Leslie. She was always sharp and knew what was going on when some of us were starting to get goofy. I just lost my church buddy a week ago and another one before that. I’m not a fan of this stage of my life. Leslie and her family will be in my prayers. It’s comforting to know she’s at peace.

  8. Lesley was a charter member of our Bunco group started in 2001. She always pitched in to help set up and clean up afterwards. She was very generous and kind and whatever job she did, she did it with her whole heart. She will be greatly missed.

  9. Lesley was a wonderful friend! She was a dear mentor to me as a new gymnastics judge. She was so kind and caring. I know she will be greatly missed!
