It is with great sorrow that I share the news that my mom (grandmother to Erin and Ryan),
LaRue Benesh passed away yesterday morning. June 19, 2019.
LaRue was a vibrant, loving and extremely social person. Mom spent much her life educating
others. As a school teacher, she taught just about every grade at one point or another. In her
private life, her passion for teaching was fulfilled in her work as a Sunday School teacher,
storyteller, and as a mother and grandmother. LaRue also especially loved her work in Marriage
Encounter along with her husband Gordon.
LaRue did not like sitting still. Attending social gatherings and interacting with her many friends
was a part of her daily life that was especially precious to her. LaRue's rich social life included
participation in many groups including P.E.O., D.A.R., Spell Binders, and the many circles at the
UMC churches she attended over the years, just to name a few.
Up to end LaRue always had a smile and a kind word for every visitor or person with whom she
came in contact. She will be missed by many, but her legacy will live on through the warm
memories of all who knew her.
