Katherine Cook Beaver Gilmore

Our dear and lovely mother, Katherine Gilmore, left this planet peacefully on November 22, 2022.
As was her wish, she resided at home until only a brief few weeks before her passing. This suited her
resilient and independent nature, as she could eat what she wanted, select her favorite TV programs,
and nap comfortably!
Born in Denver in 1927, she traveled the world both before and during her marriage to Paul Gilmore, but
always especially loved the Colorado Mountains. She is survived by her 3 loving daughters, Elizabeth
Kellogg (Tom) Barbara Haynes (Lloyd) and Sharon Kipp (Randy), 3 grandchildren – David, Scott and
Amanda and 2 great grandchildren. In her eyes, her daughters and grandchildren could do no wrong!
We also acknowledge her lifelong and steadfast friend, LaJean Monroe, also loved by the entire family.
She would laugh sometimes until she was in tears. In her younger days, she enjoyed homemaking and
sewing, but for many years worked outside of the home as a capable secretary. She loved dressing up
with matching shoes, purse, gloves, and always the right jewelry.
The family thanks the staff of Mountain Vista Senior Community for their attention in the final weeks.
Katherine commented about the compassionate and quality care from the staff.
Donations in Katherine’s honor may be made to the Colorado Fallen Firefighters Foundation to help
support the families of fallen firefighters in the line of duty: COFFF.ORG
