Katherine Farrell Kline November 14th, 1959 – April 1st, 2020.
Katherine “Katie” Kline, 60, passed away on April 1st, 2020. Katie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and nana. She was born on November 14th, 1959 in Plattsburgh, NY to James R. and Dolores Ann Farrell. She was a beloved sister to six siblings, a cheerleader and state championship field hockey player at Plattsburgh Senior High School where she graduated in 1977. She had a love for children and studied early childhood education at SUNY Potsdam before moving to Denver, Colorado to be with her older sister and brother in law. She soon fell in love with Edward Kline and they were married in the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, Texas on October 16, 1981. Together they built a home and raised four beautiful children. She turned her passion and talents with children into a career, teaching preschool in Jefferson County, and then starting her own in-home childcare business. For over 20 years, she touched the lives of children by giving them a second home where she taught them to read, sing, dance, play and most importantly that they were loved.
Katie had a deep and enduring belief in Jesus Christ which brought her great joy and sustained her through many trials in her life. Her profound conviction gave her purpose and made her a friend to everyone she came in touch with. She had an amazing gift for compassion and was generous to a fault. She adopted the extended families of her friends, helping families in need, visiting them when they were sick or even in hospice. She even had a knack for making friends and caring for the other patients in hospitals and hospice centers. The world will never know how many souls she touched in those precious moments, but her family has faith that she was welcomed into heaven with a hearty “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
Katie is survived by her mother, husband Edward, children Kolin (Lacey), Audrey (Rachel), Candace, Keenan, and her precious grandchildren Jaxon, Kristopher and Kodi Jean. She also leaves behind her siblings, Stephen (JoAnn), Michael (Anne-Marie), Betsy (David), Sara (Ronald) and their children and their grandchildren, all of whom she cared for immensely. She was predeceased by her father, her brothers James E. and Devin R., her sister Mary Margaret and her baby girl Amanda.
Katie's smile would light up the room. Katie was always happy while walking down the hallways in school. Rest In Peace beautiful Angel 😇
Katie lived with us growing up and help raised me and Rickey as one of her own and did the same thing with my kids. She will be missed.
