June was born June 2, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

June's elementary education was at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Bay View High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a member of the National Honor Society all four years.  Upon graduation she was awarded the first American Legion Auxiliary's Medal of Honor.  She had one year of nurses training at Mercy Hospital's School of Nursing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, before marrying John.

June was a 4-H Leader in Fond du Lac County.  She worked as a medical clerk at the Fond du Lac Clinic from 1967 - 1983.  June was President of Fond du Lac County's AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) and also Speaker of the House of Delegates of the Wisconsin AAMA and served on a number of National AAMA committees.

June served as President of the Winnebago Conference of the American Lutheran Church Women and as Vice President of the Northern Wisconsin District ALCW.

When she moved to Brown County, Indiana in July, 1983, June became active in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.  She taught Vacation Bible School, served as Financial Secretary for many years and as secretary.  She held many offices in the local LWML, chaired the Altar Guild and Prayer Chain at one time.  June served in various zone, district and national LWML offices/committees.  June also served as Secretary of the Brown County Historical Society for many years and as president and secretary of the Pioneer Women's Club.  June was active in AARP and was a certified instructor for the 55 Alive Safe Driving course.  She was active in 4-H, Brown County Republican Women, Interfaith Committee, Sycamore Valley Senior Citizens Club and Friends of the Library.

June moved to Denver, Colorado in December of 2010 to be near her daughter, moving into Heritage Club Denver.  June enjoyed her new community and became involved in many activities.  She ran a Bible Study group, was her floor representative and chaired the Hospitality Committee.  She found a new church home at Christ Lutheran Church, enjoyed Bible Study and Women's Guild. 

June's first thought upon rising each morning was, "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!"
